Frequently Asked Questions

  • Naturopathy is a holistic approach to health that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause to create lasting change, rather than just treating symptoms. Naturopaths don’t prescribe medicines. We take a gentler approach that typically involves lifestyle changes, nutrition, herbal medicine and targeted supplementation. As naturopathy is a holistic form of healthcare, treatment depends on the individual, and no two treatment plans are ever the same.

  • Gemma is a registered clinical naturopath with NMHNZ.

Naturopaths registered with NMHNZ are required to hold a Bachelor’s degree in naturopathy, a current First Aid certificate, and continue their education on a yearly basis.

Practicing certificates are issued each year provided ongoing professional development requirements have been met. By choosing a Registered Naturopath, you can be certain your naturopath adheres to these requirements.

  • Your first visit is essentially a comprehensive assessment and is the longest appointment we will have together (up to 60 minutes). This allows me to gather detailed information about your health that will inform the personalised treatment plan I will create for you. You will receive your treatment plan within one week.

  • This will depend on the nature of your condition, but you will get the most benefit from having at least 3 appointments. If you have a complex or chronic condition, you may benefit from more frequent appointments. Generally, I see clients for at least a few months. Appointments are typically spaced by 2-6 weeks, depending on your needs.

  • I have a special interest in fertility, skin and reproductive health. If you’d like to discuss whether I may be able to help you with your particular concern, please email gemma@sundaynaturopathy.co.nz

  • I don’t routinely offer payment plans, but I also believe that everyone deserves access to naturopathic care. Payment plans for consultation fees can be arranged on a case-by-case basis. Please email gemma@sundaynaturopathy.co.nz to discuss.

  • Some insurance plans cover naturopathic consultations. Check with your provider to understand your coverage.
